Cotton and Gems Sponsor Heritage Polo
It was a busy time for Cotton and Gems this weekend. On Saturday we were lucky enough to be at the Olympic Stadium to witness Jessica Ennis, Mo Farah and Greg Rutherford win their Gold Medals. An experience that we will talk about for years and will never be forgotten. Hard to find the words to describe the whole event….Awesome !!
Then on Sunday we were delighted to attend the Heritage Polo Cup 2012 at Hurtwood Park Polo Club as an official sponsor and supplier of all the 1st prizes for both the Gentlemen’s and Ladies teams.
HERITAGE POLO is the revival of Polo in the 1900’s, as played by British Empire Army Officer Cadets at the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst in 1885, and Ladies in the United States of America in 1912. Polo History is brought back to life, in a fresh concept, with a weekend fixture of four Teams performing in "Old English Wear" Dress Code. Gentlemen compete for the Heritage Polo Cup and play in white jodhpurs, shirt & tie. Ladies compete for the Ladies’ Heritage Polo Cup, also playing in revival polo attire, as worn by ladies in the 1900’s.
With an initial wet start, the sun came out just in time for the finals and we all witnessed two fantastic matches. Clare Cotton from Cotton and Gems was delighted to present the winning Gentlemen’s team, USA Silver Fox with their prizes from Cotton and Gems and Team Captain Patron Parke Bradley with their winning trophy.
The Ladies Team, Amazons of Polo, posed for photos with Clare to show off their Evil Eye Necklaces !
There was also a surprise visitor to the event. Tour de France winner, and London 2012 Gold Medallist, Bradley Wiggins popped by to join in the celebrations and buy some Cotton and Gems jewellery of course !!
